Vampire facial (PRP)

Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) therapy, also known as the ‘Vampire Facelift’ or ‘vampire facial’ is extremely popular with celebrities and those known to have had this treatment include amongst others Kim Kardashian, Hollywood actresses Jennifer Aniston and Angelina Jolie and supermodel Giselle Bündchen.

The treatment works on the basis that the body’s own natural healing powers may slow and even reverse the ageing process. It is a revolutionary repair system that places growth factors in the exact location where we want the skin to repair and rejuvenate itself.
Platelets contain a high content of “growth factors” – proteins that help to heal injured tissue or damaged skin. Upon re-injection the platelets release their growth factors which trigger surrounding cells to proliferate, in turn stimulating repair, increasing volume, and rejuvenating the skin.

Drawing blood from your arm. Generally, we will collect around 10 to 15 millilitres of blood, which equates to one tablespoon.

Your blood is placed into a medical centrifuge machine, it separates into three distinct layers: plasma on top, platelets, and blood cells in the middle, and red blood cells at the bottom. PRP comes from the centre part, known as the “serum portion or liquid gold,” This powerful substance is critical to the treatment because it promotes cell repair and stimulates collagen and elastin production, which are vital to maintaining firm and smooth skin. Crucially, the facial harnesses the power of your own plasma obtained from your blood sample. Microneedling device is used to create tiny holes on the face, or microchannels, on the skin’s surface. These microchannels serve as pathways for the extracted PRP to be applied onto. injecting PRP superficially under your skin is also another effective way that we may use your plasma to stimulate collagen production and rejuvenate your skin.

It makes your skin appear tighter and smoother: When platelet-rich plasma is applied to the skin in a non-invasive procedure, it triggers cell turnover and boosts the production of collagen and elastin, resulting in a firmer, tighter, and more supple complexion

-It helps with scarring: microneedling with PRP can churn out fresher skin cells and promote healing, leading to a visible improvement in the appearance of acne scars.

-It fades hyperpigmentation and evens skin tone: PRP with microneedling as the ability to effectively decrease melanin production, thus reducing excess pigmentation and resulting in a more even skin tone.

– Prp for hair restoration can help with both male and female pattern balding and alopecia as it encourages the growth of existing hair follicles, making your hair appear fuller and healthier without resorting to surgery. It is therefore the most natural way to stimulate hair growth. Hair loss is generally caused by lack of cell renewal in the scalp, which makes the PRP  the perfect treatment as it stimulates the production of new healthy cells

Right after your treatment, you will see some results. But for the maximum results, it usually takes up to 3 months. Some of our clients choose PRP because the treatment results get better over time. Plus, the added advantage of not having to explain they’ve had any procedures done.

It is always best with a course of treatments.

Most conditions need 3 treatments for best results. We recommend these are between 4 and 6 weeks apart.
