Eyelash extensions

Eyelash extensions are a semi-permanent solution for making eyelashes look made up without the need for mascara.

Lash extensions come in many styles ranging from the super-dramatic Russian 6D lashes to the softer 2d lashes and classic . So no matter which look you prefer, I will supply you with a beautiful set of lashes suited to you that will delight you.

If you only have 60 suitable natural lashes per eye, then you will only achieve a look of 60 eyelash extensions. 80 natural lashes per eye then you will achieve a look of 80 extensions per eye.

The more natural lashes, the more extensions depending on time

Russian Volume is the use of multiple ultra-fine extensions. The therapist creates a fan of eyelash extensions that are then placed onto one of the natural lashes to create extra body and fullness.  This kind of coverage cannot be created with classic extensions. Due to their lightweight nature, Russian Volume Lashes can last up to twice as long as Classic Lash Extensions.

Are a mixture of classic and Russian extensions mixed for the ultimate in fluffy, textured lashes. Also referred to as a ‘mixed set’, they offer a thicker, denser look than classic lashes, but without the uniformity and softness of a typical Russian volume set.

Classic lashes are where it all began, Classic lashes are one extension applied to one natural lash. This means that we can only add to the same number of lashes that you have naturally.

Anything from 1 hour 30 mins to 2 hours for a full set and 1hour for an infills

A full of set of lashes can look great for a couple of weeks, but naturally lashes will start to shed. Everyone’s eyelashes fall out at different intervals, but on average we lose around 42-70 lashes a fortnight. So, when you start to see gaps in your lashes, as eyelash extensions are bonded to the natural lash, we recommend lash infills are carried out every 2-3 weeks to keep the set of eyelash extensions looking full. By this time, the new lashes which were too short to apply extensions to when you last had your lashes done will now be a healthy lash.

As long as there applied and removed correctly by a fully trained lash technician they shouldn’t.

Most of the fading happens over the next 6 weeks following the treatment. If you are healthy and have a good immune system, you may get a more rapid fading

Eyelash Extensions are a high maintenance beauty treatment. They require very gentle care in order for the lashes to last longer and stay in good condition.

Cleaning your lashes daily

Your extensions will need to be cleaned daily with a professional eyelash cleaner, (purchased from your first appointment)

Improper cleansing of your eyelashes/extensions and eyelids can actually cause a few problems that will mean your extensions end up not lasting as long as they should.

Blepharitis is a common problem amongst those who do not have good eyelid hygiene. It’s defined as ‘inflammation of the eyelid’ and (please don’t quote me on this as I am not qualified to give medical advice or opinion) seems from my research to be a condition that is annoying and irritating rather than dangerous.

Basically, when not washed away properly dead skin cells can build up on the eyelids and cause itchiness and inflammation. This means that the eyes/eyelids will feel itchy, block the hair follicles, and end up looking a bit red and sore. You’ll end up itching your eyes and playing with your extensions (even in your sleep when you don’t even realize you’re doing it!) and they can start to come off. Some people that have blepharitis think they are having a minor allergic reaction to eyelash extensions, then when they start properly cleansing their lids and extensions, they discover that they are not at- behold, the itchiness disappears very quickly! When you start up a proper cleansing regimen, your eyes will feel much better and your extensions last longer.

Another reason to clean your lashes well is oil. If you have an oily complexion and/or you’ve been wearing makeup or moisturizer that contains some amount of oil, some of this oil will end up on your eyelash extensions. If you never wash your lashes, the oil remains there, building up, and slowly eating away at the eyelash adhesive. The less oily you let your eyelash extensions get (by using oil-free products, using a blotting powder or papers, and cleaning your eyelash extensions properly) generally the better your extensions will last.

So, here’s what to do to clean your eyelash extensions properly:
(remember, being gentle is the key – wetting them won’t make them come off, rubbing them with vigour will!)

  • Wet your eyes with cool warm water. Take a very, very small amount of a lash shampoo foam and lather it up on your palm. Apply this to both eyes, one at a time, splashing it over them. Don’t rub them like you’re washing hair though; just gently splash it over your closed eyes. If your eyes still feel grubby, repeat.
  • Rinse it off and dab them gently dry. It doesn’t matter if they are a little damp, stuck together with water etc., when you brush them, they will re-separate.
  • Use your lash wand to twirl through them and fan them back out very gently.
  • Do this daily
